Overview

Hemp pillows certainly aren’t for everybody, and it may take a little getting used to these hemp pillows, which are firmer than kapok, buckwheat, latex, wool, cotton, down, feather, and synthetic pillows.

The 12-section pillow measures approximately 35 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 2 inches high. The 4-section pillow measures approximately 16 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 2 inches high.

Both pillows are excellent for everyday use as well as for travel and are a good option for back sleepers.  If you sleep on your side, go for the 12-section as it can be folded to make it twice as high.

Hemp makes an excellent material for pillows as it has a hollow core, meaning that it can help regulate air flow and body temperature. Because of its hollow core, however, it isn’t washable (the fill won’t dry out properly). As such, it’s best to use a pillowcase. The case included is machine washable on a delicate cycle, with warm or cold water using mild biodegradable detergent. Hang to dry and use a steam iron at linen settings if necessary. If the pillow itself gets wet, set it out to dry on a radiator or close to a heater with good air circulation.

Rawganique was founded in 1997 by off-grid homesteaders on Denman Island off the west coast of Canada. They have deliberately stayed small-scale over the last 20 years so as to preserve the integrity of their eco-friendly efforts. The company handcrafts products made with organic cotton, linen, and hemp, and maintains control of the purity and sustainability of their products by growing, weaving, knitting, and sewing most of them right on their homestead. The founders describe themselves as ‘chemically sensitive people’ who use only their own products because they can guarantee their purity. For products such as these hemp pillows, Rawganique partner with just a handful of select artisans in Europe, the USA, and Canada who follow the same principles to produce non-toxic, eco-friendly, sustainable products.

Why Rawganique is the leader in the eco-friendly hemp pillow market

These two hemp pillows are the best around and come courtesy of a company that has long demonstrated a serious commitment to producing sustainable, healthy, and ethical products. Rawganique are highly transparent about their materials and practices, and are clearly dedicated to providing reliable, high-quality, attractive products that will last for years, if not decades. They carry these principles through to working with partner artisans in Europe to craft these hemp pillows.
