UPDATE: Keeki appears to have shut up shop, so if you spot Keeki polish in a store or online, snap it up fast!

Keeki makes water-based nail polish and has a Pure & Simple collection that actually is both pure and simple.

The ingredients comprise:

  • Water
  • Acrylate copolymer
  • Glycol
  • Various colorants.

These nail polishes are vegan, certified Cruelty-Free and Leaping Bunny certified, and made in the USA.

Downsides of Keeki nail polish

As with most water-based polishes, these polishes don’t seem to last quite as long as conventional solvent-based polish. They can also take a while to dry.

My top tips for using Keeki nail polish

  • Clean your nails first
  • Paint your nails around two hours before you go to bed
  • Use a hairdryer on low heat to speed up the drying process
  • Avoid exposing your hands to warm water for at least an hour after painting your nails
  • Avoid immersing your hands in water for at least four hours after painting your nails
  • Remove the polish completely within a week – it gets harder to remove after that as it dries and sticks more to the nail.

Final thoughts on Keeki nail polish

At just $10.99 for a 15 mL bottle, Keeki nail polish is an affordable non-toxic option free from all the the common culprits in polish. These polishes come in a range of fun colors, and touch-ups are also easier with water-based polish.

Keeki’s nail polishes include various glitter polish shades that get their shimmer from mica rather than microplastics.
