I’m not thrilled about the styrene component, but Acquarella do point out that the polish contains no hazardous components under current OSHA definitions, nor are any of the ingredients listed in the European Union’s list of restricted substances.
Also, the company prides itself on not including any animal products in their formulas, nor are any of the products tested on animals. They have even been recognized by PETA for being vegan-friendly.
Acquarella nail polish has received an EWG rating of 1, meaning it is as good as it gets. The polish also seems to last a lot longer than some other water-based polishes and comes in a range of fun colors. There’s also no need to use a base coat or topcoat with this one. This polish is a bit pricier than some of the other water-based products, coming in at $16 for a 12.5 mL bottle.
