The Liebherr Monolith MRB3000 is a 30-inch, 15 cu. ft capacity, built-in refrigerator column that rises to a staggering 84-inches, literally taking food preservation to new heights. This model is very energy-efficient, using just 305 kWh/y, while similar models use up to 447 kWh/yr.
PowerCooling ensures that newly stored foods are quickly cooled, while maintaining an even temperature throughout the interior, and Monolith circulates cold air behind the door, meaning that items stored in the door stay just as cold as everything else inside.
Energy efficient features
Part of the energy saving capabilities of this refrigerator come courtesy of BioFresh, an advanced food preservation system featuring independent climate controls with the use of a divider.
This function means you can create a high-humidity environment for fruits and veggies in one drawer, and a low-humidity environment for meats and cheeses in another, while a third drawer can be set as BioFresh-Plus, lowering temperatures down to 28°F, ideal for storing fresh fish and seafood.
Smart features
One unique feature of this model is Liebherr’s smartphone app, SmartDevice, which links to a SmartDeviceBox that can be controlled via a smartphone or tablet, activating settings and features while on the go.
SmartDevice can use internal cameras to let you see what you’re missing for any given recipe, arguably saving you time and money by making sure you don’t have to make additional runs to the store. You can even use voice recognition to order what you’re missing.
Water filtration
This model includes InfinitySpring, an integrated and flush-mounted internal water dispenser that accommodates pitchers of any size and uses a filtration system to eliminate harmful contaminants. And, you can safely store gallon jugs of in the door, freeing up the refrigerator’s interior shelves.
Depending on which size Monolith you choose, the door hinges are rated for up to 79 pounds.
Noise and light
The Monolith is very quiet, with a sound rating of just 40 dBA, and even offers customizable lighting.
The integrated LED side-wall lighting creates an even glow that can be adjusted according to taste, including a soft brightening effect upon opening the doors, and a night dimming feature.
The Monolith also features Liebherr’s InfinitySwipe touchscreen display, an intuitive electronic touch-control panel featuring a full-color 2.4-inch touch and swipe screen that’s bright, clean, and wonderfully user-friendly.
