What we love about Rawganique Organic Cotton Sheets
Rawganique makes these sheets in the U.S. using cotton also grown in the U.S. to organic standards. The sheets have a 340 thread count for a smooth, soft surface and are often used by eco hotels because of their quality. If you like traditional cotton sheets, these are the ones for you.
This sheet set includes:
- 1 fitted sheet (with 15-inch deep pocket)
- 1 flat sheet
- 2 pillowcases (including for twin sizes!)
- 1 reusable fabric bag.
These sheets are made without:
- Sweatshop labor
- Pesticides
- Fire retardants
- Biocides
- Stain repellents
- Wrinkle-proofing chemicals
- Dioxins
- Formaldehyde.
Rawganique is known for making bath, bed, and home products, and apparel in a sustainable, ethical way. These sheets are no exception and are available unbleached in an undyed natural color and in one color option (Ivory).
Downsides to Rawganique Organic Cotton Sheets
Rawganique’s organic cotton sheets come with a higher price tag than most but don’t boast the same luxury feel as you would expect for this kind of money. Compared with similarly priced Coyuchi sheets (see our review) or Boll & Branch (see our review), these sheets are less smooth and soft.
These sheets are also only available in a limited range of colors and have a 15-inch deep pocket only on the fitted sheets.
The main downside to these sheets, though, is that they have limited availability. Rawganique is once again being forced to move its manufacturing to European ateliers instead of the U.S. for these sheets. So, if American-made is a priority for you, get these sheets while you can.
Sustainability at Rawganique
Rawganique was founded in 1997 by off-grid homesteaders on Denman Island off the west coast of Canada. The company has deliberately stayed small-scale over the last 20 years so as to preserve the integrity of its eco-friendly efforts.
Rawganique continues to handmake most of its products using organic cotton, linen, and hemp, and maintains control of the purity and sustainability of these products by growing, weaving, knitting, and sewing most of them right on the family homestead. The founders describe themselves as ‘chemically sensitive people’ who use only their own products because they can guarantee their purity.
Final thoughts on Rawganique Organic Cotton Sheets
Rawganique’s Myrtle Beach Sheets are made with U.S.-grown organic cotton and are a great option for natural color sheets. The company will soon begin making these sheets in Europe again, though, so get these American-made sheets while you can.
If you’re looking for sheets in a wider range of colors, Rawganique has plenty of other options too. Check out the company’s full sheet collection here.
