Boll & Branch is a luxury bedding brand and the world’s largest consumer of Organic Fair Trade Certified™ cotton. The company’s Solid Hemmed Sheet Set, has more than 11,000 reviews, with an average rating of 4.8/5, so while I haven’t slept on these sheets myself, I’m confident in recommending them based on their eco-credentials, design, and long history of happy customers.

What we like about Boll & Branch Hemmed Sheets
The Signature Solid Hemmed Sheet Set is Boll & Branch’s most popular bedding and is available in a wide range of sizes and colors (12 at my last count!). We also really like that the fitted sheet can accommodate up to a 17-inch deep mattress plus topper, where most sheets only have a 15-inch deep pocket or less.
These sheets feel luxurious right out of the box and get softer with every wash. The sheets are also light but durable and come in a reusable laundry bag instead of plastic packaging.
Each sheet set includes:
- 1 fitted sheet (with a 17-inch deep pocket)
- 1 flat sheet
- 2 pillowcases (1 with Twin sizes)
- Reusable fabric laundry bag.
Boll & Branch uses long-staple cotton in a four-over, one-under design (similar to sateen) to make these sheets. This means the fabric is more resistant to pilling and tears, and is softer, stronger, and more durable. Single-ply cotton means the company isn’t inflating the 300 thread count.
Boll & Branch doesn’t pre-shrink or sanforize these sheets, so expect some shrinkage. Don’t worry, though, because the company deliberately oversizes the sheets, meaning they’ll be a little loose the first few times you use them but fit perfectly after a few washes.
Sustainability at Boll & Branch
Established in 2013, Boll & Branch uses 100% organic cotton in all of its products and supports Fair Trade Certified™ suppliers and practices wherever possible.
Boll & Branch CEO and Co-Founder Scott Tannen
- With the disastrous effects of climate change becoming more and more prevalent, it’s more important than ever to be conscious of our impact on the planet. [….] We are meticulous in regard to our production process, ensuring we are doing right by the world, every step of the way.
Boll & Branch has no room for harmful toxins in its final products or manufacturing process. The cotton that goes into its bedding line is grown in a sustainable, healthy way, helping to develop healthier soil and protect natural resources. For instance, the company sources organic cotton from farms that use:
- Rainwater to irrigate the cotton
- Natural manure as fertilizer
- Marigolds (calendula) as a natural companion planting pest deterrent.
The result is a safer, healthier, more sustainable process and product for farmers, factory workers and the environment, as well as consumers.
Downsides to Boll & Branch Hemmed Sheet Set
The main downside to the Boll & Branch Organic Cotton Hemmed Sheet Set is the price, which starts at nearly twice the price of Savvy Rest’s similarly certified organic cotton sheets (view review). That said, there are many more color options with Boll & Branch and just one with Savvy Rest.
Final thoughts on Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set
If you’re looking for high-quality, no-fuss, organic cotton sheets, or a comprehensive bedding package that is eco-friendly, Boll & Branch is hard to beat. These GOTS and Oeko-Tex certified sheets are environmentally-friendly, luxurious, and hardwearing, and come courtesy of a bedding start-up that continues to disrupt conventional industry practices.
If you love the look of these sheets but can’t quite stretch your budget, consider Homebird’s Sateen Sheet Set, or PACT’s sateen sheets instead. While lower price, the eco-credentials and quality are still just as high, and there are also richer color options with PACT.
